Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

Our Lord is the Good Shepherd because He lays down His life for His sheep. That’s not what shepherds do. Sheep lay down their lives for shepherds. Shepherds don’t die for sheep. Sheep die for shepherds. Shepherds live off of sheep. They fleece them and eat them. Our Lord is a crazy Shepherd. Crazy good.

In the name of the Father and of the +Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Last week we heard of believing Thomas whose natural skepticism was overcome by the fact that a man rose from the dead. The Christian faith declares that this risen man is God who holds power over life and death. Satan is defeated. Sin’s power is destroyed. Death is done as Ezekiel prophesied.
